BayArts Exhibit--Inhale, Exhale

This exhibit opened on April 11 and I forgot to bring a camera. I stopped by today to look at the show more thoroughly than I did on the night of the opening. It was a great opening with lots of people. Consequently, I spent more time talking than looking at the art. The BayArts staff did an excellent job hanging the show. There are 3 female artists (including me) exhibiting and the art works well together.
I love the orange wall, I think the color accents the colors in my painting nicely.

A Look at the Studio

I thought some shots of the studio might be interesting to post since we have plans to build a barn with studio space on the second floor. After next year I won't occupy this room. We converted it to a studio in 1997 when we had the back wall knocked out of a downstairs bedroom and then had a 10' x 10' addition put on. The space is a total of 22' x 10'. Ideally the new studio will be about 25 x 30 (give or take--more likely take). So the shots that have the door and windows look to the south and our backyard. The other view is north with much less natural light. In the new studio, I'll have much more north light.
The studio serves lots of other purposes, I use it for yoga, for reading, paying bills (no fun)and Woody the Dog likes to sleep in there.

Birding on Lake Erie

sunshine and clear blue skies summoned this birdwatcher to Lake Erie yesterday morning some early spring birding. besides seeing the start of migration marked by brown thrashers, rufous sided towhees and yellow rumped warblers; the lake and dunes were of note. there is still ice on the lake and the air was chilly. bill the dog was dressed appropriately.

April Thaw, February Thaw

The snow is gone!!! (except for a few small piles in ditches)
