i've been assisting the geauga park district in a breeding bird survey this summer. one of the great parts of doing this is seeing and hiking through beautiful woods. this beech tree was particularly striking. yesterday i stayed to paint after we completed the survey. this small oil was painted in the open area. the property we're conducting the breeding bird survey on was a golf course. the grasses are growing tall now and the contrast of trees against grasses is intriquing and beautiful. i hope to get back next week for more painting.
